HUB 302: Code of Conduct

Welcome

Please read the following Code of Conduct that needs to be signed by a Peer and a Caregiver. We’re excited to have you and your loved one wanting to join our community. We have developed this simple Code of Conduct to maintain a safe and respectful environment If you are a Peer who is 18 years old or older and a caregiver, and ready to join our autism-friendly community, please contact admin@HUB302.org or use the button below.

HUB 302 is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 non-profit serving low-support-needs neurodiverse adults on the spectrum (referred to as Peers) and their Caregivers. We aim to holistically establish a welcoming, spectrum-friendly community that nurtures Peers, making them feel respected, valued, and safe.

Respect and Kindness

•  HUB 302 is a community familiar with autism that supports one another.

•  Treat everyone with respect and kindness. This includes Peers, caregivers, volunteers, and anyone involved with HUB 302.

 •  Use positive language and be patient with others

Safety First

•  Always prioritize safety. Let a caregiver or volunteer know if you feel unsafe

or if you see that another Peer may not be safe.

•  In case of overwhelming situations, try to communicate with a Caregiver or volunteer for assistance.

•  HUB 302 is a supportive community with an understanding of autism. If you experience discomfort, insecurity, or devaluation by any community member during or outside activities, contact HUB 302 leadership or a trusted caregiver.

•  Any form of unwanted communication, harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate and unwanted sexual speech between Peers or directed at Peers is strictly forbidden at HUB 302. All Peers and Caregivers must adhere to this policy for the safety and well-being of all group members, both during HUB activities and outside of them. Depending on the severity of the infraction, HUB 302 may ask a member to take some time away from the group for education before returning.

Privacy and Confidentiality

•  Respect the privacy of others. Please do not share personal information about Peers, caregivers, or volunteers without consent.

•  Be mindful of taking and sharing photos. Obtain permission before photographing others and sharing images on social media.

Participation and Engagement

•  Encourage participation in activities to the best of one’s ability. We understand this varies between Peers.

•  Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere by actively participating and supporting others in the community.

•  Collaborate with others to create a welcoming environment for all

 participants.

Feedback and Communication

•  Encourage open communication with HUB 302 volunteers to share any concerns, suggestions, or feedback for continuous improvement.

•  Address conflicts or misunderstandings respectfully and seek assistance from caregivers or volunteers when necessary to resolve issues effectively.

Foster a culture of transparency and constructive dialogue to enhance communication within the community.

Please remember, a signed agreement will be needed for a Peer and also a Caregiver.

I am ready to sign and join HUB 302!
